Steamed Beech Veneer – Flat Cut

Steamed Beech veneer, also known as flat cut European beech wood veneer or plain sliced steamed beech veneer is typically a pale pink to a creamy reddish light brown color. It is strong, with a fine silky texture and tight uniform grain that includes small silvery pith rays giving the wood a slightly lustrous sheen. Steamed beech wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color.

Standard A grade flat cut steamed beech veneer commonly allows for some defects such as occasional pin knots and small mineral streaks. It is usually book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension.
