Cherry Wood Veneer, Cabinet Grade
Cabinet grade cherry veneer is typically a warm pinkish to red toned wood that ages to a nice reddish brown color. It’s available only in 4′ x 8′ as FlexVen™ 10 paper backed veneer sheets.
It is usually, but not always, book matched with the grain running along the 8’ dimension. Cabinet grade cherry veneer is a lower B grade and typically has defects such as pin knots and small dark resin spots known as gum pockets. This grade of cherry wood veneer is usually used in areas of less visibility where wood veneer is still needed. Ideal situations are cabinet interiors, backs of doors, shelving and many others. Cherry is a hardwood that is easy to work with and strong, with a satiny texture and tight uniform grain. Another common grain characteristic is slight figure or flashing. Cherry wood veneer will accept stains and finishes well but is usually finished with a clear coat that preserves the warmth and beauty of the wood’s natural color.
